New Year, new plans?

New year’s day isn’t always a day for resolutions, for some it’s just another day

As I sit in my study before the day begins I’m reflecting on the year that’s passed, a year of change and plans for a new beginning.

I have big plans for 2026, but I’ve been here before, many times. It all starts well enough with good intentions then reality hits me and I shelve the plans for another year.

I’m hoping this year will be different, but I never know what’s ahead. My current hypomanic episode will come to an end, when I don’t know, but it will.

It’s a cycle I’m determined to break.

Maybe this is how it is for you. You have grand plans for a new year then they’re derailed by events out of your control.

I’ve leant that I can’t control events, but I can control how I react.

Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing my experience of bipolar in the hope that it may help you.
